About the Role
Job Summary
The Tender and Marketing Specialist is responsible for identifying business opportunities, managing the end-to-end tendering process, and executing marketing initiatives that enhance the company's brand visibility and generate new business. The role requires preparing high-quality tender documents, coordinating with internal teams, monitoring procurement opportunities, maintaining relationships with clients and partners, and supporting strategic business growth through effective marketing and business development activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Tender Management
- Monitor public and private procurement portals for relevant tender opportunities.
- Evaluate tender requirements and determine bid feasibility.
- Coordinate with technical, finance, and management teams to gather required bid information.
- Prepare, compile, review, and submit complete tender documents before deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with tender instructions, eligibility requirements, and legal documentation.
- Maintain an organized database of submitted tenders and outcomes.
- Track bid results and prepare lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Manage tender-related correspondence with clients and procurement entities.
2. Marketing and Business Development
- Develop and implement marketing strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Promote the company's products and services through digital and traditional marketing channels.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Prepare company profiles, capability statements, brochures, presentations, and promotional materials.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer needs assessments.
- Assist in preparing proposals, quotations, and business presentations.
- Support generation and customer relationship management activities.
- Represent the company at networking events, exhibitions, and business meetings when required.
3. Digital Marketing
- Coordinate content for the company website and social media platforms.
- Assist in planning and executing digital marketing campaigns.
- Monitor campaign performance and prepare performance reports.
- Support branding initiatives to strengthen the company's market presence.
4. Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly tender activity reports.
- Report on marketing campaign performance and lead generation metrics.
- Maintain records of opportunities, submissions, contracts, and client engagements.
5. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Number of tender opportunities identified.
- Number of bids submitted.
- Tender success (win) rate.
- Value of contracts secured.
- Number of qualified leads generated.
- Marketing campaign effectiveness.
- Brand visibility and engagement.
- Proposal quality and submission accuracy.
- Timeliness of tender submissions.
- Client satisfaction.
Working Conditions
- Office-based with occasional field visits.
- May require work outside normal office hours to meet tender submission deadlines.
- Participation in client meetings, networking events, and exhibitions as required
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Management, Economics, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A Master's degree is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in tender management, business development, marketing, proposal writing, or a similar role.
- Experience preparing bids for government, NGO, or private-sector projects is highly desirable.
- Experience in the ICT or technology industry is an added advantage.

- Strong knowledge of public procurement and tendering procedures.
